• <br /> 1 Department Heads shall accrue vacation at the rate <br /> of two (2) days per month or 24 days per year . <br /> 2 <br /> No vacation credit accrual will be allowed in excess <br /> 3 of two (2) full years accrual . <br /> 4 EXCEPTION : Effective January 1 , 1986, no employee <br /> shall have vacation credit accrual in excess of <br /> 5 thirty (30 ) days at the time of his/her <br /> retirement/separation. In the event that an <br /> 6 employee elects to retire , all vacation accrual in <br /> excess of thirty ( 30 ) days must be taken prior to <br /> 7 the effective retirement/separation date or be lost <br /> to the employee . <br /> 8 <br /> No vacation shall be granted until the Appointive <br /> 9 Officer has completed a minimum of six (6) months of <br /> City service without prior permission of the Mayor . <br /> 10 <br /> E. The City shall grant Appointive Officers leave of <br /> 11 absence with pay for the following reasons : <br /> 12 1 . Funeral Leave : When approved by the <br /> Mayor , Appointive Officers shall be granted <br /> 13 reasonably necessary time off with pay to <br /> assist with funeral arrangements and to <br /> 14 attend funeral services . <br /> 15 2. Sick Leave Upon employment with the City , <br /> Appointive Officers shall have available <br /> 16 immediately ten ( 10 ) days of sick leave with <br /> pay . All Appointive Officers shall accrue <br /> 17 sick leave at a rate of two ( 2) days per <br /> month to a total maximum of one hundred and <br /> 18 twenty ( 120 ) work days . While still actively <br /> employed with the City of Everett , should any <br /> 19 monthly disability payment be made to the <br /> Appointive Officer as a benefit resulting <br /> 20 from any insurance coverage provided by the <br /> City , the City shall only pay the difference <br /> 21 between the amount of the benefit and the <br /> Appointive Officer ' s normal monthly salary . <br /> 22 In no case , shall such sick leave payment <br /> exceed one hundred and twenty ( 120 ) work days <br /> 23 at eight ( 8) hours per day . <br /> 24 Section 2 : City Council : <br /> 25 A . Members of the City Council of the City of Everett <br /> who request coverage under the City ' s benefit <br /> 26 insurance plans shall be granted such coverage to <br /> be comprised of the following : <br /> 27 <br /> 1 . Basic and major medical coverage for the <br /> 28 Councilmember and his/her eligible dependents . <br /> 29 2 . A dental plan for the Councilmember and <br /> his/her eligible dependents . <br /> 30 <br /> 3 . A vision care plan for the Councilmember and <br /> 31 his/her eligible dependents . <br /> 32 <br />
