City and/or National Categorical Pretreatment Standards. City <br /> 6 <br /> and/or national categorical pretreatment standards, as promulgated by the <br /> 7 City and/or the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) pursuant to the <br /> 8 <br /> Act, whichever are more stringent, shall be met by all Dischargers of the <br /> 9 <br /> regulated industrial categories. <br /> 10 <br /> B. State Requirements. State requirements and limitations on <br /> 11 <br /> discharges to the Municipal Sewer System shall be met by all Dischargers <br /> 12 <br /> which are subject to such standards in any instance in which they are more <br /> 13 <br /> stringent than federal requirements and limitations or those in this or any <br /> 14 <br /> other applicable ordinance. <br /> 15 <br /> C. Dilution. No Discharger shall increase the use of potable or <br /> 16 <br /> process water in any way, nor mix separate waste streams for the purpose of <br /> 17 <br /> diluting a discharge as a partial or complete substitute for adequate <br /> 18 <br /> treatment to achieve compliance with the standards set forth in this <br /> 19 <br /> Ordinance. <br /> 20 <br /> D. High Strength Wastes. Any waters or wastes containing higher <br /> 21 <br /> than 250 mg/1 5-day BOD or suspended solids may be required to discharge at <br /> 22 <br /> a specific release rate or to be pretreated to attain a specified strength <br /> 23 <br /> if, in the opinion of the Director, the release of such waste in an <br /> 24 <br /> uncontrolled manner could adversely affect proper handling and treatment in <br /> 25 <br /> the Municipal Sewer System. <br /> 26 <br /> E. Grease. Water or wastes shall not contain fats, oils, and <br /> 27 <br /> greases of animal or vegetable origin of any nature in excess of 100 <br /> 28 <br /> milligrams per liter . Water or wastes shall not contain petroleum oil, <br /> 29 <br /> nonbiodegradable cutting oil, or mineral products of mineral oil origin, <br /> 30 <br /> whether or not emulsified, in excess of 50 milligrams per liter . <br /> 31 <br /> 32 <br />
