• <br /> 1 obsolescence, fire hazard, disaster damage, or abandonment, as specified <br /> in this Code or any other effective ordinance, are, for the purpose of this <br /> 2 section, considered unsafe conditions. All such unsafe conditions are <br /> hereby declared to be public nuisances and the owner or his agent must <br /> 3 abate by repair, rehabilitation, demolition, or removal in accordance with <br /> this Code or by any other procedures provided by law. <br /> 4 <br /> 80-10 BOARD OF APPEALS. In order to determine the suitability of <br /> 5 alternate materials and methods of construction, to prQvide for reason- <br /> able interpretations of this Code and to hear appeals from orders issued <br /> 6 by the City's Building Official, the Board of Appeals created pursuant to <br /> Ordinance No. 351-75 shall hear these matters. Appeals from written <br /> 7 orders of the Building Official must be filed within thirty (30) calendar <br /> days from the date of receipt of the written order by the aggrieved party. <br /> 8 Such time limitation shall not apply to oral orders or directions given by <br /> the Building Official. The aggrieved party shall cause to be made at his <br /> 9 own expense any tests or research required to substantiate his claim. <br /> 10 80-11 VIOLATIONS AND PENALTIES. It shall be unlawful for any <br /> person, firm, or corporation to install, alter, or extend any electrical <br /> 11 equipment in the City, or cause the same to be done, contrary to or in <br /> violation of any of the provisions of this Code. Any person, firm, or <br /> 12 corporation violating any of the provisions of this Code shall be deemed <br /> guilty of a misdemeanor, and each such person shall be deemed guilty of a <br /> 13 separate offense for each and every day or portion thereof during which <br /> any violation of any of the provisions of this Code is committed, <br /> 14 continued or permitted, and upon conviction of any such violation such <br /> person shall be punishable by a fine of not more than $1,000 or by <br /> 15 imprisonment for not more than 90 days, or by both such fine and <br /> imprisonment. <br /> 16 <br /> 80-12 PERMITS AND INSPECTIONS. <br /> 17 <br /> (a) Permits required: No person, firm or corporation shall install, <br /> 18 alter, replace, or extend any electrical work or equipment except <br /> replacement of kind or as provided for in Section 80-13, "Work <br /> 19 Started Without a Permit," without first obtaining a separate <br /> electrical permit for each installation, alteration, replacement or <br /> 20 extension from the Building. <br /> 21 (b) Application: To obtain a permit the applicant shall first file an <br /> application therefor in writing on a form furnished for that <br /> 22 purpose. Every such application shall: <br /> 23 (1) Identify and describe the work to be covered by the permit <br /> for which application is made; <br /> 24 <br /> (2) Describe the land on which the proposed work is to be done, <br /> 25 by house and street address; <br /> 26 (3) Indicate the use or occupancy for which the proposed work <br /> is intended; <br /> 27 <br /> 28 (4) Be accompanied by plans and specifications as required in <br /> Subsection (d) of this section; <br /> 29 (5) State the valuation of the proposed work; <br /> 30 (6) Be signed by the permittee; <br /> 31 (7) Give such other information as reasonably may be required <br /> 32 by the Building Official. <br /> 3 <br />
