9 . <br /> 1 ORDINANCE NO. 4,75",„?—f <br /> 2 <br /> AN ORDINANCE providing for the adoption of the 1985 Edition of the <br /> 3 Uniform Mechanical Code and repealing Ordinance No. 724-80. <br /> 4 <br /> 5 THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> 6 Section 1: This ordinance shall be known as the "Everett Mechanical Code." <br /> 7 Section 2: The Uniform Mechanical Code, together with Appendices A, B and <br /> 8 C as published by the International Conference of Building Officials being particularly <br /> 9 the 1985 Editions thereof and the whole thereof, save and except such portions as are <br /> 10 hereinafter deleted, modified or amended are hereby adopted by reference and <br /> 11 incorporated herein as fully as if set out at length herein. <br /> 12 Section 3: Amendments Made In The Uniform Mechanical Code. <br /> 13 A. Section 203 of the 1985 Edition of the Uniform Mechanical Code is hereby <br /> 14 amended by deleting: <br /> 15 <br /> In order to determine the suitability of alternate materials and methods <br /> 16 of installation and to provide for reasonable interpretations of this Code, <br /> there shall be and is hereby created a Board of Appeals, consisting of <br /> 17 members who are qualified by experience and training to pass upon <br /> matters pertaining to mechanical design, construction and maintenance <br /> 18 and the public health aspects of mechanical systems. The building official <br /> shall be an ex officio member and shall act as secretary of the board. The <br /> 19 Board of Appeals shall be appointed by the governing body and shall hold <br /> office at its pleasure. The board shall adopt reasonable rules and <br /> 20 regulations for conducting its investigations and shall render all decisions <br /> and findings in writing to the building official with a duplicate copy to the <br /> 21 appellant. <br /> 22 <br /> and inserting in its place: <br /> 23 <br /> 24 In order to determine the suitability of alternate materials and methods <br /> of installation, to provide for reasonable interpretations of this Code and <br /> 25 to hear appeals from written orders issued by the City's Building Official, <br /> the Board of Appeals created pursuant to Ordinance No. 351-75 shall hear <br /> 26 these matters. Appeals from written orders of the Building Official must <br /> be filed within thirty (30) calendar days from the date of receipt of the <br /> 27 written order by the aggrieved party. The aggrieved party shall cause to <br /> be made at his own expense any tests or research required to substantiate <br /> 28 his claim. <br /> 29 <br /> B.
