dG ` )9 • 1 ORDINANCE NO.. /;. f 9-y6 2 AN ORDINANCE providing for the adoption of the 1985 Editions of the 3 Uniform Plumbing Code and the Uniform Plumbing Code Standards and repealing Ordinance No. 724-80. 4 5 THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: 6 Section 1: This ordinance shall be known as the "Everett Plumbing Code." 7 Section 2: The Uniform Plumbing Code and the Uniform Plumbing Code 8 Standards, together with Appendices A, B, and D as published by the International 9 Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials being particularly the 1985 Editions 10 thereof and the whole thereof, save and except such portions as are hereinafter deleted, 11 modified or amended are hereby adopted by reference and incorporated herein as fully 12 as if set out at length herein. 13 Section 3: Amendments Made In The Uniform Plumbing Code and the Uniform 14 Plumbing Code Standards. 15 A. The 1985 Edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code is hereby amended by 16 deleting Chapters 11 and 12 of the Code in their entirety. 17 B. Notwithstanding any wording in the 1985 Editions of the Uniform Plumbing 18 Code or the Uniform Plumbing Code Standards, neither the Uniform Plumbing Code nor 19 the Uniform Plumbing Code Standards shall apply to the installation of gas piping, 20 water heaters, or vents for water heaters. 21 C. Section 20.2(a) of the 1985 Edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code is 22 hereby amended by deleting: 23 24 The Administrator Authority may appoint such assistants, deputies, inspectors or other employees as are authorized to carry out the functions 25 of the department and this Code. 26 and inserting in its place: 27 28 The Building Official, with the approval of the Chief appointing authority, may appoint such assistants, deputies, inspectors or other employees as 29 are authorized to carry out the functions of the department and this Code. 30 31 32
