• <br /> • <br /> 1 B. Metered service connections within the City limits which are larger <br /> than two inches in diameter and all metered service connections outside <br /> 2 the City limits shall be installed at the actual cost of making the <br /> installation, plus any other applicable charges. <br /> 3 <br /> C. Before work is commenced on any service connection, the applicant shall <br /> 4 pay to the Utilities Division the amount required for a fixed rate <br /> service connection or a three-fourths inch, or one inch or two inch <br /> 5 metered service connection, whichever is applicable to the particular <br /> connection as determined by the Utilities Division, plus any aforesaid <br /> 6 charges applicable to the property or connection. <br /> 7 D. In the case of an applicant requesting a service larger than two inches <br /> within the City limits or a service of any size outside the City <br /> 8 limits, the applicant shall pay to the Utilities Division, before work <br /> is commenced on the service, the amount equal to the estimated cost, as <br /> 9 determined by the Utilities Division for the installation of the <br /> service, including any aforesaid charges applicable to the property. <br /> 10 The work shall then be performed by the Utilities Division which shall <br /> maintain a record of the actual costs of all labor, material and <br /> 11 equipment rental required to complete the work. Upon completion of the <br /> installation, if the amount paid to the Utilities Division by the <br /> 12 applicant is not sufficient to pay for the cost of doing the work, the <br /> applicant shall pay the difference between the actual cost and the <br /> 13 amount of the estimate previously paid to the Utilities Division. If <br /> the actual cost for making the installation is less than the estimate <br /> 14 previously paid, the Utilities Division shall refund the difference to <br /> the applicant. <br /> 15 <br /> Section 14: Application and Payment of Charges Prerequisite to Building <br /> 16 Permit. <br /> 17 The initial water service connection application shall be made and all <br /> 18 charges paid before issuance of a building permit issued. <br /> 19 Section 15: Temporary and Construction Service. <br /> 20 The charge for a temporary and/or construction service shall be the <br /> 21 cost of installation, removal and materials. Credit will be given for a <br /> 22 meter and the meter box only when there is no damage to the meter and meter <br /> 23 box. The meter and meter box must be in fully usable condition, comparable <br /> 24 to a new or rebuilt meter. The amount of the estimated cost of the <br /> 25 temporary and/or construction service must be deposited to the City in <br /> 26 advance. <br /> 27 Section 16: Determination of Actual Cost. <br /> 28 For the purpose of this chapter, "cost" or "actual cost" of any work <br /> 29 performed for any person or other agency or City Department by the Utilities <br /> 30 Division includes the direct cost of all labor plus fringe benefits, the <br /> 31 direct cost of all materials plus materials overhead, the direct cost of <br /> 32 equipment rental used in connection with the work, all other direct costs <br /> 6 <br />
