• <br /> 1 manner. No service connection shall be installed outside the City <br /> limits for which all costs therefor have not been paid by the applicant. <br /> 2 <br /> C. Water Delivered--Charges. The charges for water delivered, through <br /> 3 all service connections located outside the City limits shall be paid <br /> under the current water rates and charges schedule for all types of <br /> 4 metered services except those which may be served under a written <br /> contract separate and apart from this ordinance. <br /> 5 <br /> D. Plan Required--Extension. At the time an application for water <br /> 6 service outside the City limits is made to the Utilities Division, the <br /> applicant shall file with the Division, a drawing showing the property <br /> 7 to be served together with a description thereof and location of all <br /> proposed water pipe thereon. No extension of water pipes within or <br /> 8 beyond the boundary of the property shown on the drawing shall be <br /> permitted without first having submitted a supplementary drawing for <br /> 9 approval by the Utilities Division. <br /> 10 E. Single Representative. A11 customers served through a master meter <br /> shall designate one representative who shall be responsible for all <br /> 11 matters relating to service through the master meter, including payment <br /> of water bills and required notifications to the City. Each <br /> 12 representative as designated above, shall notify the Utilities Division <br /> on an annual basis of the number of services connected to the master <br /> 13 meter. <br /> 14 F. Customer to Provide Storage. The City shall not be responsible for <br /> the water storage needs of customers outside the City, and all <br /> 15 customers outside the City limits shall provide sufficient water <br /> storage for their needs during periods of transmission line or water <br /> 16 main failures and/or periods of reduced pressure or flow. <br /> 17 G. Application of Regulations. This ordinance and all rules and <br /> regulations governing the water system shall apply to all customers <br /> 18 outside the City limits. <br /> 19 Section 47: Cross-Connections and By-Passes Prohibited. <br /> 20 A. No cross-connection with the water system either within or outside the <br /> City limits shall be installed or permitted to exist. The term <br /> 21 "cross-connection" as used herein shall designate any physical <br /> arrangement whereby the water system of the City is connected with <br /> 22 another water supply and/or system, either public or private, in such a <br /> manner that a flow of water into the Everett water system from such <br /> 23 other water supply and/or system is possible. <br /> 24 B. No by-pass, either within or outside the City limits, shall be <br /> installed or permitted to exist. The term "by-pass" as used herein <br /> 25 shall designate any physical arrangement whereby water may be diverted <br /> around any gate valve, check valve, control valve, service cock or <br /> 26 meter unless specifically installed by and/or permitted with full <br /> knowledge of the Utilities Division. <br /> 27 <br /> C. Any cross-connection or unauthorized by-pass discovered or found to <br /> 28 exist within the water system shall be corrected or eliminated <br /> immediately either by the Utilities Division directly or the <br /> 29 Superintendent shall order and direct the responsible party to correct <br /> or eliminate such cross-connection or unauthorized by-pass. In the <br /> 30 event the responsible party should fail to refuse to take such <br /> corrective action immediately, the Superintendent may, upon serving <br /> 31 written notice of intention to do so, take the required corrective <br /> action and the responsible party shall be liable for payment of all <br /> 32 costs so incurred. <br /> 17 <br />
