Hi es Fire Equipment Inc. is the exclusive provider for Pierce Manufacturing <br /> products in this region. <br /> The platform ladder truck is available from a competitively bid contract through FireRescue GPO. <br /> FireRescue GPO is a program of National Purchasing Partners (NPPGov), which is a national cooperative <br /> purchasing organization that serves government and non-profit organizations. The City has an interlocal <br /> agreement with FireRescue GPO that allows for purchases from its competitively awarded contracts in lieu of <br /> soliciting bids on our own. <br /> The manufacturer has stipulated that a contract allowable price increase of 3%will go into effect for any <br /> order processed after January 31,2018. <br /> A total of$1,100,000 was budgeted in prior years for this purchase. A request to reappropriate this amount <br /> to the 2018 budget will be included in budget amendment#1, along with a request for the additional <br /> $143,057.20 needed to fully fund this transaction. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Authorize purchase of an Aerial Ladder Truck from Pierce Manufacturing through Hughes Fire Equipment, <br /> Inc.,in the amount of$1,243,057.20, including WA State sales tax,utilizing contract VH11574. <br /> 7 <br />
