• 4110 <br /> 22. Where elevators are provided in buildings, at least one elevator shall be provided for fire <br /> department emergency access to all floors. The elevator car shall be of such a size and arrangement to <br /> accommodate a 24-inch by 84-inch ambulance stretcher in the horizontal, open position and shall be <br /> identified by the international symbol for emergency medical services (star of life). The symbol shall <br /> not be less than 3 inches high and shall be placed inside on both sides of the hoistway door frame. <br /> Exception: If all stories within the building have direct, accessible egress to grade (EMC 16.01, Section <br /> L). <br /> 23. A trellis, special railing, bollards, special paving, low seat wall and/or other architectural <br /> features; <br /> c. A landscape planter a minimum of three feet wide located between the walkway and driving <br /> aisle, planted with shrubs and evergreen groundcover.
