• • <br /> 20. Fire service: EMC requires the DCDA to be outside in a vault unless there are mitigating <br /> circumstances that won't allow it. There can also be only seventy feet of pipe from the water main to the <br /> DCDA for water quality reasons having to do with stagnant water in the line. The most practical location <br /> would be next to the domestic meter. If in a sidewalk it would also need a non-slip surface on the entry <br /> doors. <br /> 21. Connection of new main to existing on north side. Preferred method is to use two 45 deg. ells rather <br /> than one 90 deg. ell for better fire flow. Exact configuration will need to be determined after existing <br /> line and connection exposed. <br /> Fire Department—Jim Venturo (425)257-8124 <br /> 1. Buildings greater than 30 feet high require ladder apparatus access in accordance with the 2012 <br /> International Fire Code, Appendix D, D105. The unobstructed width of the access in the immediate <br /> vicinity of the building shall be 26 feet. At least one of the required access routes shall be located <br /> within a minimum of 15 feet and a maximum of 30 feet from the building and shall be positioned <br /> parallel to one entire side of the building on Tower Street(NE corner). <br /> 2. Access - O.K. as shown on the site plan reviewed. <br /> 3. Three (3) Knox Boxes are required: <br /> 1)Entry plaza area <br /> 2) South courtyard entry <br /> 3)Fire service room <br /> 4. Per field evaluation from the Fire Marshal's Office - Fire lanes shall be provided as required in <br /> Everett Municipal Code 46.44. Fire lanes shall be identified by red curbs with white stenciling stating <br /> "NO PARKING - FIRE LANE" and vertical signs stating "NO PARKING — FIRE LANE — TOW <br /> • AWAY ZONE—EMC 46.28.130". Location shall be approved by the Fire Code Official. <br /> 5. Premise Identification- Premises shall be clearly identified by the correct address at the street entry. <br /> Buildings shall be clearly identified so as to be visible and legible from the access road. Individual <br /> . apartments and suites,where applicable, shall be clearly and legibly identified from the access road. See <br /> EMC 16.03, Section 505.1.1 (Address Posting Policy). <br /> 6. Fire Hydrants-Locations as planned are acceptable. <br /> 7. Fire flow for this project is 2,250 gpm. <br /> 8. Portable Fire Protection - A portable fire extinguisher with a minimum U.L. rating of 2-A:10-B:C <br /> shall be provided within 75 feet of travel on all floors of each building during construction and prior to <br /> occupancy. <br /> 9. Fire Alarm System - An approved automatic fire detection system shall be provided as required by <br /> City Ordinance No. 3021-07, Chapter 16.76, of the Everett Municipal Code. Plans for such system shall <br /> be submitted to the Fire Code Official for review and approval prior to installation. Submittal shall <br /> include cut sheets of all equipment intended for use. Appropriate trip tests, witnessed by a Fire <br /> i76Rth--Department Inspector, shall be performed, alongcertificate of completion, prior to final <br /> 1 <br /> ` <br />
