EVERETT STATION PARK-AND-RIDE EXPANSION Agreement with Perteet Inc. January 2018 • Collect and Review Available Geotechnical Data: HWA will review readily available and relevant information along the project site.This review will include online geotechnical databases,geologic maps, and HWA library. Geotechnical Explorations • Plan Field Exploration Program:HWA will plan and coordinate the geotechnical exploration program for the project.This will consist of conducting a series of geotechnical borings across the project site in support of pavement design,assessment of shallow groundwater conditions,retaining wall,and luminaire foundation design. Planning will include identification of the location of the geotechnical borings,development of traffic control plans,and coordination of required equipment. • Generate Geotechnical Exploration Figure: HWA will prepare a Geotechnical Exploration Figure associated with our proposed exploration program. This Figure will be submitted to the design team and Everett Transit for review and approval.The Figure will detail the type,location,and extent of proposed field explorations. The Figure will also be used for utility locating clearances and for permitting that may be necessary to access the exploration locations.We assume the Everett Transit or Perteet,in support of this project,will acquire and provide any required permits or right of entries at no cost to HWA. • Conduct Utility Locates for Geotechnical Borings:Prior to conducting our field explorations,HWA will mark the proposed exploration locations and arrange for utility locates using the Utility Notification Center. • Conduct Field Explorations(Geotechnical Borings):HWA will conduct a series of up to five(5) geotechnical borings across the project site to assess the subsurface soil and groundwater conditions. Each of these borings will be drilled to a depth of 20 to 30 feet below ground surface.Soil samples will be taken at 2.5 foot intervals for the full depth of the borings. • •: - -- - - - : •_ • • - : tests. • Generate Boring Logs and Assign Laboratory Testing:HWA will prepare summary boring logs and perform laboratory testing to evaluate relevant physical properties of the site soils. Laboratory testing would include moisture content,hydrometers,grain-size distribution,and Atterberg Limits. Geotechnical Design Services • Evaluate Field and Laboratory Data:Based on the borings and the laboratory test results of selected samples,HWA will generate estimates of the soil strength and other properties needed to evaluate the effects the subsurface conditions will have on the proposed improvements. • Pavement Design Analyses:HWA will evaluate the results of the geotechnical explorations and develop pavement design recommendations for new asphalt pavement within the parking lot. • Luminaire Design and Recommendation: HWA will evaluate the data derived from our field investigations and laboratory testing to complete geotechnical engineering analyses to provide standard luminaire foundation recommendations.
