40-27 BUILDING <br />BRPH ARCHITECTS -ENGINEERS, INC. <br />3.5 <br />a <br />WATERSTOP INSTALLATION <br />BELOW -GRADE WATERPROOFING I <br />Strictly comply with installation instructions in manufacturer's published literature, <br />including but not limited to, the following: <br />1. On irregular concrete faces, or on vertical surfaces, apply a'/z in. (12 mm) bead <br />of Adhesive as bedding for waterstop. <br />2. Waterstop joints should overlap a minimum of 4 in. (100 mm), ensuring full <br />contact between jointed pieces. <br />3.6 MOLDED -SHEET DRAINAGE -PANEL INSTALLATION <br />A. Place and secure molded -sheet drainage panels according to manufacturer's written <br />instructions. Use adhesives or other methods that do not penetrate waterproofing. Lap <br />edges and ends of geotextile to maintain continuity. <br />B. Board insulation may be used as an alternate to drainage panel in conditions that do <br />not contain a footing drainage system. See 3.7 (below) for insulation installation. <br />3.7 INSULATION INSTALLATION <br />A. Install one or more layers of board insulation over waterproofed surfaces. Cut and fit to <br />within 3/4 inch of projections and penetrations. <br />B. Lay insulation units according to manufacturer's written instructions. Stagger end joints <br />and tightly abut insulation units. <br />3.8 SLEEVE -SEAL -SYSTEM INSTALLATION <br />A. Install sleeve -seal systems in sleeves in exterior concrete walls at below -grade service <br />piping entries into utility/pedestrian tunnel. <br />B. Select type, size, and number of sealing elements required for piping material and size <br />and for sleeve ID or hole size. Position piping in center of sleeve. Center piping in <br />penetration, assemble sleeve -seal system components, and install in annular space <br />between piping and sleeve. Tighten bolts against pressure plates that cause sealing <br />elements to expand and make a watertight seal. <br />3.9 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL <br />A. Engage an independent site representative qualified by waterproofing membrane <br />manufacturer to inspect substrate conditions; surface preparation; membrane <br />application, flashings, protection, and drainage components; and to furnish daily <br />reports to Architect. <br />C06922.001.00 07 14 10 - 10 <br />05-22-14 ' <br />
