EXHIBIT A
7400 BLOCK LOWELL-LARIMER ROAD STABILIZATION
CONTRACT AMENDMENT NO. 1
GEOENGINEERS, INC.
GEOENGINEERS FILE NO. 0661-113-00
PROJECT SCOPE
Task 100-Additional Services During Design
GeoEngineers scope of additional geotechnical services during design includes the following:
1. Additional on-site time associated with the City potholing to locate the sewer force main during our site visit
for drilling.
2. The first drilling subcontractor was unable to advance the borings through the very thick asphalt over
concrete section. Therefore, a second drilling subcontractor with larger equipment was hired to complete
the borings. Additional expenses were incurred because of standby time for the first drilling subcontractor
and mobilization and drilling necessary using larger equipment by the second drilling subcontractor.
3. Additional on-site meetings with City and subcontractors.
4. Meeting with City to discuss project at City of Everett office.
5. Additional analyses for various alternatives, including a fill berm design alternative as requested by the City.
6. Laboratory testing of dredge sand.
7. Developing preliminary quantities/costs for fill berm and drilled shaft alternatives.
8. Issuing a revised draft report for review by City, which will include a fill berm alternative. We plan to issue
our final report within 1 week after receiving review comments.
9. Consultation through the design phase of the project.
Task 200 -Construction Observation Services
GeoEngineers scope of construction observation services is based on our experience and an estimated number
of part time site visits. We understand that the City anticipates the work will be completed in 4 to 6 weeks.
Based on our discussions with the City,we have assumed that part-time observation for geotechnical activities
will be required.
The purpose of our geotechnical construction observation services will be: (1)to provide sufficient observation,
consultation, and testing to evaluate if the work is being completed in general accordance with the intent of the
project and our recommendations; (2) to provide engineering consultation and recommendations for design
changes during construction, as necessary.
