CITY OF EVERETT PUBLIC WORKS 00 72 13 <br /> SPECIAL PROVISIONS GENERAL CONDITIONS <br /> B. Samples of Materials <br /> 1. The Contractor shall provide Samples or specimens of materials to be incorporated in the <br /> Work that require laboratory examination or special testing, as requested by the Owner's <br /> Representative. Such Samples or specimens shall be provided in ample time to permit <br /> making proper test analysis and examinations before the Contractor plans to incorporate the <br /> material into the Work. An independent testing laboratory will conduct tests of material in <br /> accordance with the Specifications. In the absence of a specific test requirement, the <br /> Owner's Representative will determine the appropriate standard test to be used. <br /> C. Certification <br /> ' 1. In cases where compliance of materials or Equipment to Contract requirements is not readily <br /> determinable through inspection and tests, the Contractor shall provide properly <br /> authenticated documents, certificates, or other proof satisfactory to the Owner's <br /> ' Representative that the materials and Equipment comply with the Contract requirements. <br /> These documents, certifications, and proofs shall include performance characteristics, <br /> construction materials, and physical or chemical characteristics of materials. The Contractor <br /> ' shall pay all associated costs of such certification. <br /> D. Inspection at Point of Manufacturing <br /> 1. The Contractor shall be responsible and reimburse the Owner for the costs of inspections, if <br /> inspections occur outside of Whatcom, Skagit, Island, Snohomish, King, Pierce and <br /> Thurston counties if: <br /> a. Inspection and testing of materials or Equipment in the vicinity of the Work by the <br /> ' Owner is not practicable, or <br /> b. The Contractor requests the Owner to inspect and test material or Equipment at the <br /> point of manufacture, or <br /> c. The Specifications require that inspection, testing or witnessing of tests take place at <br /> the point of manufacture. <br /> 2. Costs to be paid or reimbursed by the Contractor include, but are not limited to, travel, <br /> subsistence, labor and lodging expenses of the Owner's inspector. <br /> E. Testing and Commissioning of Completed Work <br /> ' 1. Testing and commissioning of all mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems and <br /> completed portions of the Work, functioning as a completed system and the complete <br /> Project, functioning as a completed facility, shall be done in accordance with the <br /> ' Specifications. <br /> F. Storage of Materials and Equipment <br /> 1. Contractor shall store materials and Equipment so as to insure the preservation of their <br /> quality and fitness for the Work. <br /> 2. Stored Equipment and materials shall be located so as to facilitate inspection. <br /> ' 3. The Contractor shall be responsible for damages, loss or casualty occurring to materials and <br /> Equipment until Final Acceptance. <br /> G. Manufacturer's Directions <br /> 1.
