I <br /> SECTION 01 12 16-WORK SEQUENCE <br /> PART 1 GENERAL <br /> 111 1.1 SUMMARY <br /> A. This Section includes general sequencing, project phasing and coordination requirements for <br /> the Work. <br /> B. Contract Requirements: <br /> 1. The existing trunk sewer continuously conveys raw sewage. The functions of the sewer <br /> shall not be compromised during the course of the Work,except as may be specified herein. <br /> Plan and prosecute the Work such that the operation of the sewer is not interrupted, except <br /> as specified herein. <br /> 2. Disruptions could potentially result in the spillage or discharge of raw wastewater and <br /> sewage. State law allows the Department of Ecology (DOE) to impose civil penalties for <br /> violation of a term, condition, or requirement of Owner's NPDES Permit, including <br /> spillage or discharge of raw wastewater and sewage. <br /> 3. Spillage or discharge of raw sewage to surface waters or drainage courses is prohibited <br /> during construction. Penalties imposed on Owner as a result of any bypass of this type <br /> caused by Contractor, its employees or Subcontractors, and legal fees and other expenses <br /> to Owner resulting directly or indirectly from the bypass shall be borne in full by <br /> Contractor. <br /> 4. Control any and all leakage resulting from or integral to making all temporary and <br /> permanent piping connections.Provide any and all devices required to control,stop,divert, <br /> or dispose of any and all leakage. <br /> 5. Owner may determine the order of precedence and the time and season at which any portion <br /> or portions of the Work shall be commenced and carried on in order to ensure proper <br /> completion of the Contract, proper operation of the sewage conveyance system or <br /> compliance with NPDES Permit conditions. <br /> 6. Plan and prosecute the Work such that temporary bypass pumping operations are provided <br /> in accordance with Section 01 57 19.11,Temporary Sewage Control and Bypass Pumping. <br /> 1.2 SUBMITTALS <br /> A. Section 01 33 00, Submittal Procedures: Requirements for submittals. <br /> B. Work Sequencing Plan: At a minimum,to include the following: <br /> 1. Complete sequence of construction for all activities contained herein as necessary to <br /> complete the work within the Contract Time. <br /> 2.
