i <br /> SECTION 01 45 00 - QUALITY CONTROL <br /> PART 1 GENERAL <br /> I1.1 DESCRIPTION <br /> A. This Section covers quality control requirements supplementary to those of the General <br /> Conditions and Technical Specifications. <br /> 1.2 PROVISIONS <br /> A. Contractor's Responsibility for Testing <br /> The CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for the cost of all testing as specified in this section. <br /> Additional information has been provided regarding the payment responsibility for the <br /> OWNER with regards to the Project. <br /> ' B. OWNER's Right to Perform Additional Tests <br /> The OWNER or ENGINEER reserves the right to complete additional testing. In such cases, <br /> the CONTRACTOR shall provide safe access for the OWNER or ENGINEER and their <br /> inspectors to adequately inspect the quality of work and the conformance with project <br /> specifications. <br /> 1 1.3 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br /> A. Testing Requirements <br /> An independently owned and operated laboratory approved by the ENGINEER shall perform <br /> all testing as specified herein. <br /> B. Testing <br /> 1. General <br /> a. All required testing of work and/or materials shall be conducted in the presence of the <br /> ENGINEER. The CONTRACTOR shall provide forty-eight (48) hour notification to <br /> the OWNER and OWNER's REPRESENTATIVE prior to conducting any and all <br /> quality assurance testing. Where applicable, work and materials shall only be buried <br /> with the consent of the ENGINEER. <br /> 1 b. Where such inspection and testing are to be conducted by an independent laboratory <br /> or agency, the sample or samples of material to be tested shall be selected by such <br /> laboratory or agency or by the ENGINEER. The CONTRACTOR shall furnish such <br /> samples of all materials without charge to OWNER. <br /> c.
