I <br /> IDOCUMENT 02 41 13.23 - SITE UTILITY REMOVAL <br /> I <br /> PART 1 -GENERAL <br /> 1.01 DESCRIPTION: <br /> IA. Capping and plugging of electrical equipment, water lines, drainage pipes and structures, <br /> and other utility connections. <br /> 1 B. Everett Parks and Recreation assumes no responsibility for actual conditions of existing <br /> utilities. Drawings of existing facilities are available for information only and do not <br /> necessarily reflect the actual conditions. The Contractor shall verify locations of existing <br /> Iutilities prior to proceeding with any work. <br /> Disposal of materials from site. <br /> IC. <br /> 1.02 EXISTING CONDITIONS: <br /> i A. All existing utilities that are not scheduled for removal shall be protected, per the <br /> requirements of the Division 1 Specification Sections that apply. <br /> IR The Contractor shall verify all site conditions before beginning work. <br /> IPART 2 -PRODUCTS <br /> 2.01 SALVAGEABLE MATERIALS: <br /> 1 A. All items of salvageable value shall be salvaged and/or disposed of by the Contractor and <br /> shall become the Contractor's property, with the exception of items including but not <br /> limited to: maintenance holes, cleanouts, catch basins, irrigation heads, valves, valve <br /> I boxes, wiring, light fixtures, etc. Those items shall be determined as salvageable after <br /> inspection by the Engineer. Those items identified for salvage shall be returned to <br /> Everett Parks and Recreation. Contact the Owners Representative to make arrangements <br /> I for inspection, delivery or pick up. The Contractor shall then legally dispose of all items <br /> not deemed of salvageable value by the Engineer. <br /> PART 3 -EXECUTION <br /> I3.01 DISCONNECTION OF UTILITIES: <br /> A. Underground utilities and elements: Locate all underground utilities and elements prior to <br /> digging and/or driving stakes. Take care, to neither disturb nor damage any existing above <br /> I <br /> ground or underground utilities or elements. The Contractor shall call Utility Notification <br /> Center @(811) or (800) 424-5555 or click www.callbeforevoudig.org for utility location <br /> at or near the Public Rights-of-Way / Property Lines, and can also call Locating, Inc. @ <br /> I (425) 392-6412, CM @ (206) 255-8650 or Applied Professional Services @ (425) 313- <br /> 1034 for location of utilities within the site. (Note: these firms will charge for services <br /> rendered).
