The Contractor shall meet with the Engineer to verify location of utilities with the <br /> Contractor's location services. To make arrangements the Contractor shall contact the <br /> Owners Representative to request the meeting and also arrange for underground utility <br /> location services by Everett Plumbing, Electrical, Sewer/Wastewater Shops and <br /> Environmental services staff for locates, site information and to request shut-off of <br /> pressurized or powered utilities. Verify that all appropriate services have been <br /> disconnected. <br /> C. Utility Shutoffs: Coordinate all work with other Division 1 requirements. Do not shut <br /> off or cap utilities without prior notice. Keep streets, sidewalks and site clean and free <br /> from debris at all times. Keep both street and site drainage systems open for free passage <br /> of runoff at all times. Provide siltation control and catch basin protection as required by <br /> Best Managements Practices and Drainage Codes as required and/or directed by the <br /> Engineer. <br /> D. Existing irrigation pipe shall be abandoned in the ground in locations where the pipe does <br /> not conflict with the proposed drainage and irrigation piping Work. In areas where <br /> existing irrigation pipe conflicts with proposed piping, the irrigation pipe shall be cut and <br /> removed completely from the site and disposed of. <br /> E. The disconnection of electrical equipment shall be done by a licensed electrician,prior to <br /> beginning electrical demolition. <br /> F. Existing site storm drains and cath basins, as indicated on the plans or as directed in the <br /> field, shall be kept open and operable at all times. Catch basins shall be protected from <br /> silt by filter fabric insert `sock' during construction, per Section 01 57 13. Catch basins <br /> or pipes that become blocked shall be cleaned immediately by the Contractor. <br /> G. Dispose of all waste material at an approved disposal facility. All efforts should be made <br /> to recycle concrete and asphalt materials. <br /> 3.02 REMOVAL OF EXISTING IRRIGATION HEADS: I <br /> A. Locate all existing irrigation heads within the limits of grading or as otherwise indicated <br /> on the contract drawings by the following means: <br /> 1. Contact the Owners Representative to request a preconstruction Irrigation <br /> Coverage Test for the facility under construction. Note the location of all <br /> operable irrigation heads and their respective Control Zones directly on the <br /> Record Drawings. <br /> 2. At the time of the above mentioned coverage test, and in consultation with the <br /> Engineer, refer to the drawings for locations of irrigation heads that may not be <br /> operating and hence may not have been visible during the test. Locate by hand <br /> digging as necessary. <br /> B. Carefully record the head locations and the remaining risers and swing joints by <br /> surveying their actual locations onto the record drawings.
