I
G. There shall be no variation in the quality and source of materials once they have been approved
for the specific mix design.
PART 2 PRODUCTS
2.1 FORMS FOR EXPOSED FINISH CONCRETE
Unless otherwise shown or specified, construct all formwork for exposed concrete surfaces with
plywood, metal, metal-framed plywood-faced or other acceptable panel-type materials, to provide
continuous, straight, smooth, exposed surfaces.Finish in largest practicable sizes to minimize number
of joints and to conform to joint system shown on drawings. Provide form material with sufficient
thickness to withstand pressure of newly-placed concrete without bow or deflection. Use overlaid
plywood complying with U.S. Product Standard PS1 "B-B High Density Overlaid Concrete Form",
Class I. Use flexible spring steel forms or laminated boards free of distortion and defects to form
radius bends as required.
2.2 FORMS FOR UNEXPOSED FINISH CONCRETE
Form concrete surfaces which will be unexposed in finished structure with plywood, lumber, metal
or other acceptable material. Provide lumber dressed on at least two (2) edges and one (1) side for
tight fit.
2.3 REINFORCING MATERIALS
A. Reinforcing Bar(rebar): Grade 60 ASTM A615
B. Steel Wire: ASTM A82,plain, cold-drawn, steel.
C. Welded Wire Fabric(WWF): ASTM A185, welded steel wire fabric.
2.4 CONCRETE MATERIALS
A. Portland Cement
ASTM C150, Type II, unless otherwise acceptable to ENGINEER. Use only one (1) brand of
cement throughout the project, unless otherwise acceptable to the ENGINEER. The use of
ground granulated blast furnace slag is not allowed.
B. Aggregates
ASTM C33 and as herein specified. Provide aggregates from a single source for all exposed
concrete.
Local aggregates not complying with ASTM C33 but which have shown by special test or
actual service to produce concrete of adequate strength and durability may be used when
acceptable to the ENGINEER.
Legion Golf Course Stormwater Detention Project Concrete Work
WO#UP3620 03 11 00- 3
