I <br /> 111 <br /> 1. Fine Aggregate-Clean,sharp,natural sand free from loam,clay,lumps or other deleterious <br /> substances. Dune sand,bank-run sand and manufactured sand are not acceptable. <br /> 2. Coarse Aggregate - Clean, uncoated, processed aggregate containing no clay, mud, loam <br /> or foreign matter, as follows: <br /> a. Crushed stone processed from natural rock or stone. <br /> b. Washed gravel,either natural or crushed.Use of pit or bank run gravel is not permitted. I <br /> c. Maximum Aggregate Size-Not larger than one-fifth(1/5)of the narrowest dimensions <br /> between sides of forms, one-third(1/3)of the depth of slabs,nor three-fourths (3/4)of <br /> the minimum clear space between individual reinforcing bars or bundles of bars. <br /> 2.5 READY-MIX CONCRETE 1 <br /> Ready-mixed concrete shall conform to the requirements of ACI 301 and ASTM C 94. In case of <br /> conflict,ACI 301 shall govern. <br /> 2.6 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS <br /> All concrete shall have a minimum compressive strength at 28 days of 3,000 psi. <br /> PART 3 EXECUTION <br /> 3.1 FORMS I <br /> A. Design, erect, support, brace and maintain formwork to support vertical and lateral loads that <br /> might be applied until such loads can be supported by the concrete structure. Construct <br /> 111 <br /> formworks so concrete members and structures are of correct size, shape, alignment, elevation <br /> and position. <br /> B. Design formworks to be readily removable without impact shock, or damage to castin-place <br /> concrete surfaces and adjacent materials. <br /> C. Forms for Exposed Concrete <br /> Drill forms to suit ties used and to prevent leakage of concrete mortar around tie holes. Do not <br /> splinter forms by driving ties through improperly prepared holes.Do not use metal cover plates <br /> for patching holes or defects in forms. Provide sharp, clean corners at intersecting planes, <br /> without visible edges or offsets. Back joints with extra studs or gifts to maintain true, square <br /> intersections. Use extra studs, walers and bracing to prevent bowing of forms between studs <br /> and to avoid bowed appearance in concrete. <br /> Do not use narrow strips of form material, which will produce bow. Assemble forms so they <br /> may be readily removed without damage to exposed concrete surfaces.
