I <br /> IA. Prior to commencing work in this Section, become familiar with site conditions. In the event <br /> discrepancies are found, notify the Engineer as to the nature and extent of the differing <br /> Iconditions. <br /> I B. Call Local Utility Line Information service at 1-800-424-5555 not less than three working days <br /> before performing Work. <br /> I 1. Request underground utilities to be located and marked within and surrounding <br /> construction areas. <br /> I 2. Coordinate with and notify utility companies should it be necessary to remove or relocate <br /> facilities. <br /> iC. Identify required lines, levels, contours,and datum. <br /> D. See Section 31 10 00, Site Clearing for additional requirements in protection of existing <br /> 1 utilities, survey control, plant life and landscaped areas in coordination with Work in this <br /> Section. <br /> I3.2 SITE CONDITIONS <br /> A. Quantity Survey:The Contractor shall be responsible for calculations for quantities and volume <br /> I of cut and fill from existing site grades to finish grades established under this contract as <br /> indicated in the Drawings or specified and shall include the cost for all earthwork in the total <br /> basic bid. <br /> 1 B. Dust Control: Must meet all federal,state and local requirements. Protect persons and property <br /> from damage and discomfort caused by dust. Water surfaces as necessary and when directed <br /> IIIby Engineer to quell dust. <br /> C. Soil Control: Soil shall not be permitted to accumulate on surrounding streets or sidewalks nor <br /> to be washed into sewers. <br /> 3.3 EXISTING UNDERGROUND UTILITIES <br /> I <br /> A. Protect active utilities encountered,located or otherwise,and notify persons or agencies owning <br /> same. <br /> B. Remove inactive or abandoned utilities from within the project grading limits in accordance <br /> 11 with Section 33 11 50,Existing Pipe Abandonment. <br /> C. For sewer and other miscellaneous drainage facilities,fill and plug pipes as follows: <br /> 1 1. General: <br /> Ia.
