I <br /> 3.12 MARKING TAPE INSTALLATION <br /> A. Continuously install marking tape along centerline of all buried piping, install 24 inches <br /> below finished grade. Coordinate with piping installation drawings. <br /> 3.13 ELECTRONIC LOCATING FACILITY INSTALLATION <br /> A. Marker Balls: <br /> 1. Install according to manufacturer's recommendations and as shown or directed and !I <br /> according to the following requirements: <br /> a. Install marker balls directly above the pipe alignment at a depth no less than 3 feet I <br /> and no more than 4.5 feet below final surface grade. <br /> b. Install marker balls during trench backfill operations by placing the marker ball in <br /> compacted backfill. <br /> c. Cover marker ball with a minimum of 6 inches of backfill and compact backfill <br /> before continuing trench backfill operations. <br /> d. Install markers balls with trenchless pipe installations by core-drilling hole of a <br /> minimal diameter needed to allow clearance for placement of marker ball. Backfill <br /> with approved trench backfill,pavement base and pavement, as applicable. <br /> 2. Water Marker Ball Locations: Install at locations as required by Sewer Marker Ball <br /> Locations specified herein. <br /> 3. Sewer Marker Ball Locations: <br /> a. Install marker balls directly above connection points,termination points and all <br /> fitting locations,and at a minimum spacing of 50 linear feet on sewers with a straight <br /> horizontal alignment. <br /> b. Install marker balls at a minimum spacing of 25 lineal feet directly above sewer <br /> mains installed on a radius. <br /> c. Install marker balls on new or reconstructed sewer service laterals, directly above the <br /> centerline of the end of the lateral at the curb,property line or other end of lateral <br /> location, as directed. <br /> d. Install marker balls directly above every alignment change along sewer mains and <br /> service laterals. <br /> e.
