March 9, 2016 <br /> Everett Transit 1st Quarter 2016 Briefing <br /> Presented by Tom Hingson, Transportation Services <br /> Mayor Stephanson reported that he received a briefing this week from <br /> Emmett Heath, CEO of Community Transit, who was very complimentary <br /> of Tom Hingson and Everett Transit staff and the working relationship that <br /> has been developed between the two agencies. <br /> J. T. Dray, spoke about the culture of Everett Transit and the working <br /> relationship between Everett Transit and the Everett Transportation <br /> Advisory Committee. <br /> PROPOSED ACTION ITEMS: <br /> COUNCIL BILL 1602-11 <br /> SECOND READING: <br /> AN ORDINANCE establishing a limit on the number of retail <br /> marijuana stores in the City of Everett, and amending Ordinance <br /> No. 3443-15 <br /> Kent Peverly, Everett, recommended the details of the plan to review the <br /> maximum number of retail marijuana stores allowed before June 1, 2018, <br /> be incorporated into the proposed ordinance. He also suggested using <br /> tax revenue generated by marijuana sales to fund the review. <br /> Richard Ek, Everett, expressed concern about the number of customers of <br /> Mary J's Highway Pot Shop smoking marijuana in the church parking lot <br /> located at 19th Avenue SE. He stated that the church had recently <br /> installed a gate to prevent this activity. <br /> Jessica Jordan, owner of Mary's J's Highway Pot Shop, spoke in support <br /> of establishing a limit on the number of retail marijuana stores, and stated <br /> she would remind customers to stay away from church property. <br /> 83 <br />
