The plan commits <br /> to the preservation of the area for industrial use, and envisions a high percentage of manufacturing jobs <br /> within the area. However, the plan also allows a wide mix of job-producing activities in the area. <br /> Regional employment forecasts are based primarily on market analysis and attempt to predict what will <br /> actually happen over the next 20 to 30 years in this part of the country, in this part of the state, and in <br /> this part of the region. The Puget Sound Regional Council (PSRC) regional forecasts predict a slight <br /> decline in manufacturing employment in the region as a whole. Most of the regional job growth is <br /> forecast to occur in the service and retail sectors. <br /> 12 <br />
