March 16, 2016 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at <br /> 6:30 p.m., March 16, 2016, in the City Council Chambers of the William E. <br /> Moore Historic City Hall, Council President Murphy presiding. Upon roll <br /> call, it was found that Mayor Stephanson and Council Members Roberts, <br /> Moore, Murphy, Franklin, and Tuohy were present. Council Member <br /> Stonecipher was excused. Council Member Bader was expected to be a <br /> few minutes late. <br /> Council Member Moore led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the March 9, 2016, City Council meeting were approved as <br /> printed. Council Members Roberts and Murphy abstained from the vote. <br /> MAYOR <br /> OATH — POLICE OFFICER <br /> Moved by Council Member Roberts, seconded by Council Member <br /> Tuohy, to concur with the appointment of Alex Olson as a new police <br /> officer. <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> The Deputy City Clerk administered the oath of office and Mayor <br /> Stephanson presented the officer with his badge. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Franklin provided a liaison report on her attendance at <br /> the Community Streets Initiative Advisory Committee meeting. <br /> Council Member Roberts stated that this week is National Sunshine Week, <br /> which is a national initiative to promote a dialogue about the importance of <br /> open government and freedom of information. He also reported on his <br /> 86 <br />
