City of Everett Human Needs Grant <br /> January 1, 2018 through December 31, 2018 <br /> Exhibit A <br /> Program Description <br /> Organization: Dawson Place Child Advocacy Center <br /> Program: Dawson Place Advocacy Center <br /> The City of Everett's Human Needs Priorities: <br /> YOUTH: Dawson Place CAC Center serves youth who have been sexually and/or physically abused. <br /> b) Health Services (i.e. Medical, Dental, Mental Health Treatment) <br /> c) Counseling/Guidance/Legal services <br /> e) Abuse/Neglect Abuse <br /> Dawson Place understands that before the emotional/mental damage that normally results from child ab use <br /> can be healed, the child must be physically healthy. That is why every child that is given a full well-child <br /> checkup at Dawson Place. The well-child checkup assures that the child is healthy, up-to-date with <br /> immunizations, and has reached developmental benchmarks appropriate for their age. Where immunizations or <br /> further medical care is warranted the nurses at Dawson Place administer those treatments. Our clients also <br /> receive mental health assessments, and referrals to on-going Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy <br /> (TF-CBT)to help them move past the trauma caused by their abuse. TF-CBT is a thoroughly researched and <br /> highly practiced therapy method that leads to well documented positive results. <br /> PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES: Dawson Place CAC serves developmentally disabled adults who have been <br /> sexually or physically abused. Child and adult persons with mental disabilities are given all the services stated <br /> in the"YOUTH"section above. <br /> Program Description: <br /> Dawson Place Child Advocacy Center is a nonprofit organization that serves Snohomish County families with <br /> children and/or developmentally challenged youth and adults who are victims of sexual assault, physical abuse, <br /> or neglect. Dawson Place is a child-focused and friendly location that delivers ALL available services for victims <br /> of abuse. <br /> Dawson Place unites the primary public and private agencies that serve child abuse victims in Snohomish <br /> County. Onsite partner agencies include the Snohomish County Sheriff, Providence Intervention Center for <br /> Assault and Abuse, Snohomish County Prosecuting Attorney, Compass Health, and Child Protective Services. <br /> Offsite, we work closely and have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Everett Police Department. <br /> Every law enforcement agency in Snohomish County uses Dawson Place's facilities and services. The five <br /> partner agencies that make up Dawson Place work collaboratively at one location to provide separate but <br /> coordinated services for abused children. <br /> Program Objective: <br /> Mission: Dawson Place Child Advocacy Center is a group of professionals responding to concerns of child <br /> abuse. We are dedicated to helping kids, seeking justice, and promoting healthy families. <br />
