City of Everett Human Needs Grant
January 1 through December 31, 2018
Catholic Community Services
Volunteer Chore Services and Family and Children Services
EXHIBIT A: Program Summary
FAMILY AND CHILDREN SERVICES
The Foster Care Program of Catholic Community Services recruits and licenses foster families for
placement of children currently in State-dependent care. We provide nurturing out-of-home care for
children ages birth to 18. Unfortunately, the demand for foster homes always outpaces the supply, such
that we could continue to license as many homes as are interested and meet all requirements in order to
serve more children and never actually meet the depth of need. We provide professional case
management to ensure the supports necessary for children to thrive in stable foster placements. We also
provide basic clothing to those children in need as well as school supplies to all school aged children in
this program. Our goal is to retain 90% of our licensed homes annually, knowing that attrition will occur
due to changing family circumstances, such as completed adoptions, family moves, etc. Adequately
trained and supported families are the most stable and dedicated to continue fostering and thereby
positively impacting the life of a child.
The Layette program seeks to serve 100% of clients referred to CCS for assistance with supplies and
resources for low-or-no income or homeless mothers of newborns. We provide diapers, formula, baby
food, basic clothing and various local resources to pregnant and parenting mothers.
Both of these program services align directly with the City of Everett focus on Youth: Abuse/ Neglect in
seeking to provide goods and services to children at high risk for abuse and/or neglect by parents
struggling to meet their most basic needs either due to financial hardship or family dysfunction.
(Insert summary of services to be provided.)
