south line of said subdivision to the East one-quarter (1/4) <br /> corner of said Section 5; thence northerly along the east line of <br /> said Section 5 to the centerline of the Snohomish River; thence <br /> westerly along the centerline of the Snohomish River to the <br /> intersection of the projected east line of the plat of Town of <br /> Lowell, according to the plat thereof recorded in Volume 1 of <br /> Plats, Page 11, records of said County; thence southerly along <br /> the projected east line and the east line of said plat of Town of <br /> Lowell to the northeasterly corner of the plat of Smith's First <br /> Addition vacated portion, according to the plat thereof recorded <br /> in Volume 3 of Plats, Page 18, records of said County; thence <br /> continuing southerly along that vacated portion of said plat of <br /> Smith's First Addition to the southeasterly corner of said plat; <br /> thence southwesterly along the southerly line of said vacated <br /> portion of Smith's First Addition to the intersection of the west <br /> line of the East Half of the Northeast Quarter of said Section 5, <br /> said point also bears northerly from the Point of Beginning; <br /> thence southerly along the west line of said East Half to the <br /> point of Beginning; <br /> TOGETHER WITH the west 180 feet of Section 4, Township 28 North, <br /> Range 5 East, W.M., situated in Snohomish County, State of <br /> Washington, lying between the County road and the centerline of <br /> the Snohomish River <br /> Section 2: That upon annexation of the property hereinabove set forth, <br /> said property thereof annexed shall become a part of the City of Everett, a <br /> municipal corporation, and shall be subject to all of its laws and ordinances <br /> then and thereafter in force. Upon annexation of the above-described <br /> property, all of said property shall be assessed and taxed at the same rate on <br /> the same basis as other property located within the City of Everett is <br /> assessed and taxed, to pay for any then outstanding indebtedness of the City <br /> of Everett contracted prior to or existing at the date of this annexation. In <br /> addition, the annexed area will remain responsible unto any other lawfully <br /> formed municipal corporation to which the property is obligated at the time of <br /> annexation subject to a specific lien. Further, the City of Everett may incur <br /> additional operating expenses in supplying water or sewage unto persons who <br /> are located within the annexed area. Accordingly, utility rates for the area <br /> for which annexation is petitioned may vary from those rated from other areas <br /> within the City of Everett. <br /> Section 3: That the City Clerk of the City of Everett is hereby <br /> directed upon passage of the ordinance of annexation to deliver and to file <br /> with the Council of Snohomish County, the Snohomish County Auditor, and the <br /> Snohomish County Boundary Review Board, a certified copy of this ordinance of <br /> annexation. <br /> CITY OF EVERETT <br /> MAYOR <br /> ATTEST: <br /> ` APs�l `_t <br /> CITY CLERK <br /> PASSED: - /LP—�,/ <br /> VALID: /c <br /> PUBLISHED: / -a(, -- <br /> -2- <br /> 1553G <br />
