Please check the connections indicated on detail 8/S4.1 for uplift and downward axial <br /> forces resulting for the force couples due to lateral forces in addition to the gravity loads. <br /> Please include S2 (Overstrength) factors as required for seismic load cases. See ASCE 7-10 <br /> 12.3.3.3. <br /> 5. Please provide calculations checking the spread footing for bearing as well as the shear and <br /> flexural design with the inclusion of axial forces created from the lateral forces in the <br /> seismic/wind load cases. <br /> 6. Please provide a detail indicating the connection of two W14x43 steel beams are framing <br /> into the HSS 6x6x5/16 column. Please provide calculation of a similar nature to the <br /> conditions of comment 3 of the permit response letter. <br /> 7. On Sheets S4.0, 5.0, and 6.0, please provide design calculations for the drag struts and <br /> their connections to be provided in Notes 4 and 5. Also, please provide calculations for <br /> members indicated as collectors. <br /> 8. On S4.0, the portal frame detail calls out 10/S3.1. However, this detail does not appear to <br /> be provided in the referenced sheet, but a similar detail appears as 7/S2.0. Please clarify. <br /> 9. On details 4/S4.1, 7/S4.1, 7/S5.1, 8/S5.1, and 3/S6.0, please address the load path from <br /> the floor/roof diaphragm sheathing to the shear wall. Please provide calculations indicating <br /> that the open web joists can effectively transfer the load through the web members and <br /> into the shear wall below. If the web members are not design to withstand these loads, <br /> please re-address the load path at these connections for shear transfer. <br /> If you have any questions, please email or call me at (425) 257-7287.
