1 ORDINANCE NO. 1/ <br /> 2 <br /> AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance Nos. 779-81 and 910-82 as they <br /> 3 apply to the regulation of for-hire vehicles, specifically limousines. <br /> 4 <br /> 5 THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> 6 Section 1: That Section 5 of Ordinance No. 910-82 (EMC 5.68.185) which <br /> 7 reads as follows: <br /> 8 <br /> All vehicles for hire shall have a uniform color scheme and identifying <br /> 9 them to the company or person under which the for hire business license <br /> is issued. All vehicles for hire shall have in distinct, legible letters no <br /> 10 smaller than four inches in height, the name of the company or person <br /> under which the for hire business license is issued. The placement and <br /> 11 location of said markings and letters shall be subject to the approval of <br /> the Chief of Police or his designee. <br /> 12 <br /> All vehicles for hire shall be designated by a separate number to be <br /> 13 located on the vehicle in such manner as the Chief of Police or his <br /> designee shall prescribe. The size of said numbers shall be distinct and <br /> 14 legible and no smaller than four inches in height. The number assigned <br /> each vehicle shall correspond with the number placed on the license <br /> 15 indicia as required pursuant to Section 17 of this chapter. <br /> 16 <br /> be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> 17 <br /> 18 All vehicles for hire shall have a uniform color scheme identifying them <br /> to the company or person under which the for hire business license is <br /> 19 issued. Each company or person under which the for-hire business license <br /> is issued shall have its uniform color scheme different and distinct from <br /> 20 similarly licensed companies or persons. All vehicles for hire, except for <br /> limousines, shall have in distinct, legible letters no smaller than four <br /> 21 inches in height, the name, of the company or person under which the <br /> for hire business license is issued. The placement and location of said <br /> 22 markings and letters shall be subject to the approval of the Chief of <br /> Police or his designee. <br /> 23 <br /> All vehicles for hire, except for limousines, shall be designated by a <br /> 24 separate number to be located on the vehicle in such manner as the Chief <br /> of Police or his designee shall prescribe. The size of said numbers shall be <br /> 25 distinct and legible and no smaller than four inches in height. The number <br /> assigned each vehicle shall correspond with the number placed on the <br /> 26 license indicia as required pursuant to Section 17 of this chapter, except <br /> in the case of limousines. <br /> 27 <br /> 28 Section 2: That Subsection B of Section 19 of Ordinance No. 779-81 <br /> 29 (EMC 5.68.200(A)(2), (B), (C), which reads as follows: <br /> 30 <br /> B.
