PUBLIC WORKS
June 14, 2017
Owner: Port of Everett, Zodiak
Job Address: 415 Riverside Road
Plan Check No: B1704-042
RE: Corrections Letter
Dear Mr. Carleton,
In response to the application for a building permit, the plans have been examined and you are
advised that revisions may be necessary before a permit can be issued. Please review and
respond to the comments below.
In order for the processing of your application to continue, it will be necessary to provide the
Building Division with two new sets of revised construction documents reflecting the corrections
requested. Please include a response letter which indicates how the corrections were resolved.
General
1. Floor footnote #7 should be revised to the 2015 IBC. The Assemblies Occupancies (even
if Accessory) should be accounted for in the Building Information sections. These would
include conference rooms and break rooms with a floor area greater than 750 square feet.
Section 508.2.1
2. Exiting through a storage room (room 302) is not permitted per Section 1016.2, Item 5.
3. Because there is a folding partition between mezzanine conference rooms 210 &211, the
Assembly rooms have a combined occupant load greater than 50 when the partition is
open. As such, the following comments apply:
a. All doors serving the assembly uses (with occupant loads greater than 50) from
the exit access through to the exits should be shown with panic hardware (if the
doors have locks or latches). Section
b. Exit signs should be shown at each exit door. Section
c. Emergency egress lighting should be shown within the room. Section
d. Maximum occupant load signs should be provided. The signage, location and
maximum occupants should be described on the plans. Section
4. The plans should show the means of compliance for electric vehicle charging infrastructure
as required by Section 427 (WA State Amendment).
5. The wall and soffits within enclosed usable spaces under the stairways should be shown
protected by minimum one-hour fire-resistive construction. Details and listings should be
provided. Doors into the storage spaces need not be rated however. Section 1011.7.3
