• 1 B. An employee may ask for reconsideration of the final disposition of 2 his/her suggestion provided new information is presented which was not available at the 3 time of submission of the suggestion or if there appears that there may have been a 4 misunderstanding regarding the suggestion. A written request for reconsideration must 5 be made within fifteen (15) days following the notification of the decision concerning 6 the disposition of the suggestion. The request must set forth the basis for the 7 reconsideration, giving reasons supporting the reconsideration. 8 C. Following a decision on the reconsideration of an employee's suggestion, 9 the employee may appeal the final disposition of the suggestion to the City Council. A 10 written appeal setting forth in detail the basis for the appeal must be filed with the 11 City Clerk within fifteen (15) days following the notification of the decision on the 12 reconsideration. In order to appeal, an employee must first exhaust his/her request for 13 reconsideration. 14 Section 8: SEVERABILITY. If any section, clause, sentence or phrase of this 15 Ordinance should be held invalid or unconstitutional, the invalidity or unconstitu- 16 tionality shall not affect the validity or unconstitutionality of any other section, clause, 17 sentence or phrase. The City Council hereby declares that it would have passed this 18 Ordinance, and each section, clause, sentence or phrase thereof, irrespective of the 19 fact that any one or more sections, clauses, sentences or phrases be declared 20 unconstitutional. 21 Section 9: EFFECTIVE DATE. This Ordinance shall be and is hereby 22 declared to be in full force and effect, fifteen (15) days after the date this Ordinance 23 becomes valid. �.
