1 NN. "Parking Violation" means the infringement of any parking regulation set 2 forth in this ordinance. 3 Section 3: Stopping, Standing, or Parking Prohibited in Specified Places. 4 A. Except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic, or in 5 compliance with the law or the directions of a police officer or official traffic control 6 device, no person shall: 7 1. Stop, stand, or park a vehicle: 8 a. On the roadway side of any vehicle stopped or parked at 9 the edge or curb of a street; 10 b. On a sidewalk or street planting strip; 11 c. Within an intersection; 12 d. On a crosswalk; 13 e. Between a safety zone and the adjacent curb or within thirty feet of points on the curb immediately opposite 14 the ends of a safety zone, unless official signs or markings indicate a different no-parking area opposite 15 the ends of a safety zone; 16 f. Alongside or opposite any street excavation or ob- struction when stopping, standing, or parking would 17 obstruct traffic; 18 g. Upon any bridge or other elevated structure upon a highway or within a highway tunnel; 19 h. On any railroad tracks; 20 i. In the area between roadways of a divided highway 21 including cross-overs; 22 j. At any place where official signs prohibit stopping; or 23 k. Within any fire zone or fire exit. 24 2. Stand or park a vehicle, whether occupied or not, except momen- 25 tarily to pick up or discharge a passenger or passengers: 26 27 a. In front of a public or private driveway or within five feet of the end of the curb radius leading thereto; 28 b. Within fifteen feet of a fire hydrant; 29 c. Within twenty feet of a crosswalk; 30 d. Within thirty feet upon the approach to any flashing 31 signal, stop sign, yield sign, or traffic control signal located at the side of a roadway; 32 -7-
