I <br /> CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> ' 2-02.3(3)E Removal of Catch Basins, Manholes, Inlets or Sumps <br /> Excavate and completely remove the structure including, but not limited to, casting <br /> and outlet trap, concrete encasement and bricks, as applicable to each removal <br /> item listed in the Proposal. <br /> Plug existing connecting pipes that remain by filling with Commercial Concrete <br /> Cement Grout a minimum length of 24—inches into the pipe. Backfill shall be <br /> Gravel Borrow as specified in 9-03.14(1). Compact backfill to a minimum of 95 <br /> percent maximum density in accordance with 2-03.3(14)D. <br /> 2-02.3(4) Obliteration of Pavement Markings <br /> (******) <br /> Remove pavement markings where shown on the Plans or where designated by the <br /> Engineer. Obliterate pavement marking until blemishes caused by the pavement <br /> marking removal conform to the coloration of the adjacent pavement. If the pavement <br /> is materially damaged by pavement marking removal operation, Contractor shall repair <br /> the pavement damage, at the Contractor's expense, to a condition equal to existing <br /> pavement that had no markings obliterated. Remove sand or other material deposited <br /> on the pavement as a result of removing stripes and markings as the Work progresses <br /> to avoid hazardous conditions. Accumulation of sand or other material that might <br /> interfere with drainage will not be permitted. <br /> 2-02.3(5) Abandon Pipe In-place <br /> (******) <br /> Plug pipe ends of pipes designated on Plans being abandoned in-place using <br /> commercial concrete. If designated on Plans, fill abandoned in-place pipe with <br /> Controlled Density Fill as specified in 2-09.3(1)E. <br /> 2-02.3(7) Salvage <br /> (******) <br /> Carefully salvage and deliver to the Owner in good condition, all materials of <br /> recoverable value taken from the discarded facilities, unless otherwise indicated. <br /> Materials and things deemed of no value by the Engineer shall become the <br /> Contractor's property to be removed and properly disposed. <br /> Remove excess concrete, debris and dirt from castings and other materials the <br /> Engineer designates suitable for salvage and that are not to be re-used elsewhere on <br /> the Project. Deliver salvage castings and materials to the location designated by the <br /> Engineer. <br /> 2-02.3(8) Waste Disposal <br /> (******) <br /> Provide waste site for disposal of materials not required for construction. Arrange <br /> waste disposal at no expense to the City. Waste disposal shall meet the requirements <br /> of 2-03.3(7)C of the Standard Specifications. <br /> 2-02.3(9) Abandon Existing Water Valves In-place <br /> (******) <br /> Prior to abandoning existing water valves in-place, coordinate with City to have City <br /> forces close valve. After City forces verify valve is closed, remove valve box and <br /> extension, if any, and backfill with Gravel Borrow as specified in 9-03.14(1). Compact <br /> backfill to a minimum of 95 percent maximum density in accordance with 2-03.3(14)D. <br /> 2-02.4 Vacant <br /> Revise 2-02.4 as follows: <br /> Water Main Improvement S Division 2-EARTHWORK January 29, 2018 <br /> WO No.-UP3664 SP-131 <br />
