CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> 8-06 CEMENT CONCRETE DRIVEWAY ENTRANCES <br /> 8-06.1 Description <br /> Supplement 8-06.1 by adding the following: <br /> This Work also includes concrete driveway slabs behind back of sidewalks and <br /> thickened sidewalk driveway approaches. <br /> 8-06.2 Materials <br /> Supplement 8-06.2 by adding the following: <br /> Liquid Membrane-Forming Concrete Curing 9-23.2 Special Provisions I <br /> Compounds <br /> Chemical Admixtures for Concrete 9-23.6 Special Provisions <br /> 8-06.3 Construction Requirements I <br /> Delete the first two paragraphs of 8-06.3 and substitute the following: <br /> Provide Cement Concrete Driveway Type 1, 2 or 3 as the case may be in accordance <br /> with the Standard Specifications and Standard Plan No. 315, 316 and 317. Where <br /> driveways with depressed sidewalk are called for on the Plans, depress the sidewalk <br /> through the driveway area, providing a maximum 2 percent slope from back of <br /> sidewalk to the back of curb. Provide minimum six inch thick cement concrete I <br /> driveways and sidewalk driveway approaches and construct using Commercial <br /> Concrete as specified in Section 6-02.3(2)B of the Standard Specifications. Provide <br /> concrete having a slump not exceeding 3-1/2-inches and having a minimum 28-day <br /> design strength of 4000 psi. Match concrete finishing for transitions to existing cement <br /> concrete driveways to the existing surface as closely as possible. <br /> Sawcut existing cement concrete driveways and butt joint the new pavement to the <br /> existing driveway. <br /> Prepare subgrade for driveways and having required compaction and providing a firm, <br /> unyielding subgrade acceptable to the Engineer. <br /> Provide forms for the straight sections of the driveway having a minimum thickness of <br /> three inches and equal to the nominal depth of the concrete. Plywood or one inch <br /> lumber may be used on radii. Securely stake and block all forms to true line and <br /> grade. <br /> Protect the driveway against damage or defacement until acceptance by Owner. <br /> Remove and replace by the Contractor at his expense driveways that are not <br /> acceptable, in the opinion of the Engineer, because of damage or defacement. <br /> Before placing any concrete, have on the job site enough protective paper, or <br /> equivalent, to cover the pour of an entire day in the event of rain or other unsuitable <br /> weather conditions. <br /> 8-06.4 Measurement <br /> Delete paragraphs in 8-06.4 and substitute the following: <br /> Bid items of Work completed pursuant to the Contract Documents will be measured as <br /> described in Division B - Bid Item Descriptions and Section 1-09 MEASUREMENT <br /> AND PAYMENT of the Standard Specifications. <br /> 8-06.5 Payment <br /> Delete all paragraphs in 8-06.5 and substitute the following: <br /> Payment for Bid items of Work completed pursuant to the Contract Documents will be <br /> as described in Division B - Bid Item Descriptions and Section 1-09 MEASUREMENT <br /> AND PAYMENT of the Standard Specifications. <br /> Water Replacement"S" Division 8—MISC CONSTRUCTION January 29, 2018 <br /> WO No.—UP3664 SP—166 I <br />
