1 <br /> CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> 8-13 MONUMENTCASES <br /> ' Delete Section 8-13 and substitute the following: <br /> 8-13 SURVEY MONUMENTS AND CASES <br /> (******) <br /> 8-13.1 Description <br /> This Work shall consist of furnishing and placing monument cases or survey monuments <br /> and monument cases with covers. This Work will also include adjusting existing survey <br /> ' monument cases to grade in accordance with COE Standard Drawing No. 323, 324, 325 <br /> and these Special Provisions. <br /> 8-13.2 Materials <br /> Provide Class 30 cast iron monument case and riser section in accordance with ASTM — <br /> A48 with bituminous coating. <br /> Provide cast iron cover with bituminous coating and integrally cast letters conforming to <br /> COE Standard Drawing No. 323 and 324. <br /> Provide Commercial grade cement concrete. <br /> 8-13.3 Construction Requirements <br /> r8-13.3(1) Survey Monuments <br /> Provide the survey monuments, including case and cover, as called for on the Plans <br /> and in these Special Provisions. <br /> City has made reasonable effort to identify existing survey monuments on the Plans. <br /> Notify the Engineer immediately if survey monuments are unexpectedly encountered in <br /> the area of the Work. <br /> Perform survey monument work using a professional land surveyor licensed in the <br /> State of Washington under the provisions of RCW 18.43.020and conforming to the <br /> requirements of RCW 58.09.120 and 58.09.130 and COE Standard Drawing No. 313. <br /> Remove and replace GLO or Geodetic Control monuments in conformance with the <br /> requirements of WAC 332-120. Complete the requirements for referencing <br /> monuments to the NAD 83-91 horizontal datum by completing a control survey that <br /> references the City's NAD 83-91 survey control monuments. Obtain City Surveyor <br /> approval for this control survey procedure and reference monument selection prior to <br /> beginning this work. The Contractor's surveyor is required to fill out and submit <br /> necessary paperwork to Washington DNR prior to removing a survey monument. <br /> Record survey field notes for the control survey in a City supplied field book and return <br /> to the Engineer at the completion of the work. The surveyor shall stamp his surveyor's <br /> license number as required in RCW 58.09.120 on the brass cap of each monument <br /> set. The surveyor shall also stamp the City supplied monument number on each <br /> monument set. Coordinate monument survey work with and obtain Engineer approval <br /> before final City approves the final payment. <br /> Carefully protect reference points to the monuments and take necessary precaution to <br /> avoid destruction of the points. Re-set lost or destroyed reference points at <br /> Contractor's expense. <br /> ' 8-13.3(2) Furnish and Place Monument Castings <br /> Provide monument cases and covers where indicated on the Plans, or where <br /> A designated by the Engineer, in accordance to COE Standard Drawing No. 323 and <br /> 324. <br /> 8-13.3(3) Adjust Existing Monument Castings to Grade <br /> Adjust existing monument castings to grade in the same manner as for manholes in 7- <br /> 05.3(1) of these Special Provisions. <br /> Water Replacement"S" Division 8—MISC CONSTRUCTION January 29, 2018 <br /> ' WO No.—UP3664 SP—167 <br />
