Substructure ±0.02 foot (from plan elevations) <br /> The Contractor shall slope stake the roadway before any construction may proceed. <br /> Slope stakes shall be set at 50' maximum intervals on tangents and 25' on curves. <br /> Subgrade bluetops and surfacing red and yellow tops shall be set at 50' intervals in <br /> tangent sections, 25' intervals in curve sections, and 10' intervals in intersection radii. <br /> The Contractor's surveyor shall be a licensed surveyor in the State of Washington. <br /> The Contractor shall keep updated survey field notes in a standard field book and in a <br /> format set by the Engineer. These field notes shall include all survey work performed <br /> by the Contractor's surveyor in establishing line, grade and slopes for the construction <br /> work. Copies of these field notes shall be provided to the Engineer upon request and <br /> upon completion of the Contract Work; the field book shall be submitted to the <br /> Engineer and become property of the City. <br /> If the survey work provided by the Contractor does not meet the standards of the <br /> Engineer, then the Contractor shall, upon the Engineer's written request, remove the <br /> individual or individuals doing the survey work and the survey work will be completed <br /> by the Engineer at the Contractor's expense. Costs for completing the survey work <br /> required by the Engineer will be deducted from monies due or to become due the <br /> Contractor. <br /> The City may spot-check the Contractor's surveying. These spot-checks will not <br /> change the requirements for normal checking and testing as described elsewhere, and <br /> do not relieve the Contractor of the responsibility of producing a finished product that is <br /> in accordance with the Contract. <br /> In all disputes concerning accuracy of lines and elevations, the City shall be assumed <br /> correct and the Contractor shall correct the discrepancies before construction work <br /> may proceed. No additional compensation will be paid for this corrective Work. <br /> Payment: The lump sum contract price for "Surveying" shall be full pay for all costs <br /> involved in furnishing all labor, tools, survey instruments, materials, and other <br /> equipment necessary for the setting and maintaining of the alignment and grade as <br /> specified. <br /> 1-05.6 Inspection of Work and Materials <br /> ' Supplement 1-05.6 by adding the following: <br /> 1-05.6(1) Demonstration of Compliance with Contract Requirements <br /> The burden of proving the constructed Work complies with the Contract Documents <br /> shall be on the Contractor at all times. The Contractor shall grant the City's <br /> Representative access to the Work and work site and to places where Work is being <br /> prepared, or where materials, Equipment, or machinery are being obtained for the <br /> Work. The Contractor shall provide information requested by the City's Representative <br /> in connection with inspection work. <br /> If the Contract Documents, laws, ordinances, or public regulatory authority requires <br /> parts of the Work to be specially inspected, tested, or approved, the Contractor shall <br /> give the City's Representative be not less than two working days prior written Notice of <br /> the availability of the subject Work for examination. <br /> Water Main Replacement"S" Division 1 —GENERAL REQUIREMENTS January 29, 2018 <br /> WO No—UP3664 SP—61 <br /> I <br />
