• <br /> ORDINANCE NO. ‘2?-5-4/41.Y <br /> AN ORDINANCE establishing a special construction fund, Fund No. 336, <br /> Water Reservoir No. 6 Construction, repealing Ordinance No. 637-79 <br /> as amended by Ordinances Nos. 713-80, No. 813-81 , and No. 905-82. <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has recognized the need to improve the City of <br /> Everett Water System as required to assure the safety and orderly growth of <br /> the City; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes that the existing system must be <br /> upgraded to accommodate future growth as well as providing for sufficient back- <br /> up in the event of system failure. <br /> WHEREAS, Engineering Study entitled "WASH USE 1 (1973)" recommends that a <br /> 25 MG Storage Reservoir be constructed by 1975; and <br /> WHEREAS, an Engineering Study entitled "Water Distribution System" com- <br /> pleted <br /> by RH2 Engineering for the City of Everett Public Works Department in <br /> February 1979, recommended an improvement to the reliability of water supplies <br /> in the Casino Service Area; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett Public Works Department and Fire Department <br /> recommends that a new water storage tank is a high priority item; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Everett on August 1 , 1979, did propose <br /> to Council the construction of Water Reservoir#6 as a much needed facility; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the Everett City Council on August 15, 1979, passed Council <br /> Bill No. 797-344 which increased the water rates within the City to provide <br /> funds for improvement of the City water distribution system; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE EVERETT CITY COUNCIL THAT: <br /> Section 1 : Ordinance No. 637-79, as amended by Ordinances Nos. 713-80, <br /> 813-81 , and 905-82 is hereby repealed and amended in full <br /> to read as follows: <br /> Section 2: A special construction fund is hereby established as Fund <br /> No. 336 entitled "Water Reservoir #6 Construction Fund" <br /> to accomplish the actions authorized in subsequent sections <br /> of this ordinance. <br /> Section 3: Authorization is hereby given to provide for the site <br /> selection, design and construction of Reservoir #6 to <br /> the following general specifications: <br /> A. 25 MG reservoir at 585' MWS (USCG datum) <br /> B. Approximately 5 acre reservoir site <br /> C. 10 MGD pump station to supply the Casino standpipe <br /> D. Approximately 2000' of 36" steel supply line <br /> E. Miscellaneous support systems <br />
