The method of compliance with the IEBC should be identified in the code analysis. Please confirm on the drawings if this is a Level II alterations, per IEBC section 504. a. It was not clear from sheet A3.00 whether all or a portion of the ceiling is being removed, per note DC-04, and the RCP demo plan was not shown. Please clarify on the drawings. b. The costs for providing the accessible route to the primary function area, if not already present, are not required to exceed 20% of the cost of the alterations to the primary function area per IEBC sections 410.5 and 410.7, based on Level II or Level III alterations. This would include site parking, per IEBC section 705.1, unless it is technically infeasible to comply with Chapter 11 of the IBC. Accessibility (Updated 7/12/17) 1. Please submit a site plan to indicate van accessible parking spaces, standard accessible parking spaces, and access aisles based on the number of stalls provided, per IEBC sections 410.6, 410.7, 504.2, 705.1, 806.1 and IBC section 1104.1. a. The number of accessible stalls should be identified on the drawings to conform with IBC table 1106.1, based on the number of parking stalls provided. If there are 26 stalls, two van accessible stalls are required. b. The van accessible stall should be shown as being 16 feet wide, per ICC-A117.1-2009 section 502.2, with a minimum access aisle width of 5 feet, per ICC-A117.1-2009 section 502.4.2. c. The location of the accessible parking should be on the shortest route to the primary accessible building entrance, per IBC section 1106.6 and IEBC Section 1105.1.
