1 CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS Payment for bid items of Work completed pursuant to the Contract Documents will be as described in Division B — Bid Item Descriptions of these Special Provisions and Section 1-09 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT of the Standard Specifications. 7-09 WATER MAINS 7-09.1 Description Revise the first paragraph in 7-09.1 to read as follows: This Work consists of constructing water mains in accordance with the Plans, the Standard Specifications, these Special Provisions and the COE Standard Drawings, at the location shown on the Plans. 7-09.1(1) Definitions 7-09.1(1)D Pipe Zone Backfill I Revise the first paragraph in 7-09.1(1)D to read as follows: Pipe zone backfill includes material placed a minimum of 6-inches below the bottom of pipe up to a minimum of 12-inches above the top of pipe as shown on COE Standard Drawing No. 615. Supplement 7-09.1(1) by adding the following: 7-09.1(1)F Earthquake Joint System As required on the Plans and in these Specifications, provide a ductile iron system within 35th Street between Federal Avenue and Lombard Avenue that delivers up to five degree pipe joint deflection, three degree casting joint deflection, eight degree combined assembly deflection and +1- 2.4 inches of longitudinal expansion or contraction from midpoint. Supplement 7-09.1 as follows: ' 7-09.1(2) Submittals (******) Provide submittal showing ERDI pipe manufacturer's recommended fitting placement for ERDI pipe system in accordance with the Plans and these Special Provisions. Note also whether Earthquake System piping either fully open, fully closed, or midpoint position in accordance with design of the Earthquake System piping manufacturer.
