I <br /> 2 8-27.1 Description <br /> 3 <br /> 4 This Contractor shall provide a uniformed police officer for flagging activities at traffic <br /> 5 signal controlled intersections as described in Section 1-10.1(2). I 6 <br /> 7 8-27.2 Vacant <br /> 8 <br /> 9 8-27.3 Construction Requirements <br /> 10 <br /> 11 The Contractor shall provide uniformed police control at any time a signalized <br /> 12 intersection is dark or inoperative, such as during grinding or paving operations where <br /> 13 the traffic signal must be put into flashing operation. Signalized intersections shall not <br /> 14 be police controlled between the hours of 6:00am and 8:30am nor 12:00pm to 7:30pm, <br /> 15 unless directed by the Engineer. <br /> 16 <br /> 17 Coordination of uniformed Police control shall be with the following personnel, listed in <br /> 18 order of preference: <br /> 19 <br /> 20 1. When an intersection is <br /> 51 staffed on an intermittent basis, no deduction will be made in measured hours provided <br /> 52 the officer staffing the station is in standby mode and is not performing other duties.
