I1 2-08.1 Description <br /> 2 <br /> I3 This work shall consist of sweeping all construction related roads, and cleaning the <br /> 4 pavement and removing debris from the roadway. <br /> 5 <br /> I6 2-08.2 Vacant <br /> 7 <br /> 8 2-08.3 Construction Requirements <br /> I9 <br /> 10 The use of water to perform street sweeping work shall be held to a minimum unless <br /> 11 designated otherwise by the Engineer. The contractor shall provide self-propelled <br /> 12 pickup sweepers and/or vacuum pick up sweepers for pavement cleaning and debris <br /> 13 removal whenever their use is ordered by the Engineer. The type and number of <br /> 14 sweepers are subject to the approval of the Engineer. <br /> I 15 <br /> 16 Daily sweeping shall continue on all construction related roads at least once per day <br /> 17 until said surface is covered with new HMA. In the event the Contractor sweeper will <br /> I <br /> 18 <br /> 19 not be able to work daily on ground surfaces, the City Forces will provide services, and <br /> the Contractor will be billed for each hour of operation. <br /> 20 <br /> I <br /> 21 <br /> 22 The following work shall not be paid by "Street Cleaning", they shall be included in the <br /> bid item "Planing Bituminous Pavement" (2" Deep), per square yard: <br /> 23 <br /> I <br /> 24 <br /> 25 1. Sweepers following the grinding work. <br /> 2. Debris left in the road or on the side of the road from Planing Bituminous <br /> 26 Pavement. <br /> 27 <br /> I <br /> 28 The Contractor shall plan the operation to minimize the need for street cleaning. <br /> 29 <br /> 30 2-08.4 Measurement <br /> I 31 <br /> 32 Street cleaning will be measured by the hour for the actual time consumed in sweeping, <br /> 33 pavement cleaning, and debris removal. No allowance will be made for time consumed <br /> I <br /> 34 <br /> 35 in making repairs to the equipment or for moving the equipment to or from the site on <br /> which the street cleaning is ordered.
