B. Ranges for AFSCME, Local 113; Everett Firefighters, Local 350; Everett Police Officers <br /> Association; Amalgamated Transit Union, Local 883; and the Snohomish County Building and <br /> Construction Trades Council are stipulated in their collective bargaining agreements. <br /> C. Ranges prefaced by "P" are established by the City Council in accordance with the City Charter <br /> of Everett. <br /> D. Range numbers prefaced by "R" are considered to be the minimum, mid-point and maximum <br /> salary ranges within which the Mayor may set the salary to be paid to employees covered by the <br /> compensation ordinance. <br /> Section 4: <br /> A. Seasonal day laborers employed by the City in the Recreation Division of the Parks and <br /> Recreation Department will be rated by their qualifications, experience and background, and <br /> type and nature of duties to be performed and compensated at a minimum of no less than the <br /> current federal minimum wage and a maximum of no more than $7.10 per hour. These employees <br /> are exempt from minimum wage, equal pay and overtime pay if they are employed less than <br /> seven months in any calendar year pursuant to Section 13 (a), (b), of the Fair Labor Standards Act <br /> as amended April 8, 1974. <br /> B. Day laborers employed by the City in all other City departments will be rated by their <br /> qualifications, experience and background, and compensated at a minimum of no less than the <br /> current federal minimum wage per prevailing negotiated union contract when Article VIII, <br /> Section 4 of the AFSCME Local 113 agreement applies. <br /> C. The Mayor and/or his designee together with each Department Head employing day laborers shall <br /> establish the rate of pay; therefore, within the minimum and maximum rate based on the <br /> qualifications, experience and background of each day laborer employee. <br /> D. In the case of Library day laborer or Library page employees, the Library Board together with <br /> the Library Director shall establish the rate of pay; therefore, within the minimum of the current <br /> federal minimum wage and a maximum rate of $7.10 per hour based on the qualifications, <br /> experience and background of each day laborer employee. <br /> E. The administrative salary codes for day laborers and Library page will be as follows: <br /> 010 Day Laborer Category I <br /> 020 Day Laborer Category II <br /> 030 Day Laborer Category III <br /> 040 Day Laborer/Work Study <br /> 050 Library Page <br /> Section 5: <br /> A. There is hereby adopted as part of this salary schedule, longevity pay for those employees who <br /> are covered under AFSCME, Local 113, Everett Firefighters, Local 350, Everett Police Officers <br /> Association, and the Snohomish County Building and Construction Trades Council per their <br /> respective collective bargaining agreements. <br /> B. Longevity pay shall not be paid to appointive employees, public officials, members of the <br /> Amalgamated Transit Union (Local 883) part-time employees or day laborers. <br /> Section 6: <br /> There is hereby adopted as part of this salary ordinance an educational incentive plan for <br /> commissioned police officers. Such officers, upon becoming eligible, may choose to participate <br /> in either the longevity plan or the educational incentive plan; however, in no case shall any <br /> officer be eligible to participate concurrently in both plans. The educational incentive plan <br /> payment schedule is set forth in the prevailing collective bargaining agreement. <br /> Section 7: <br /> Bus Operators who are requested by their supervisors to act as Bus Operator Trainers shall be <br /> paid $1.50 per hour premium pay in addition to their regular hourly rate. <br />
