The award is to reimburse costs of on-the-water patrols and boating <br /> education classes. A local match of$33,479.32, a portion of Vessel Registration Funds received, is <br /> required There is a non-supplantation requirement. . The Federal"Financial Assistance Grant award and <br /> Intergovernmental Agreement with the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission establishes <br /> the framework between the Commission and the EPD for accomplishing the patrols, classes and special <br /> emphasis enforcement. The ultimate goals of the activities are to reduce injury from boating incidents and <br /> promote a safe and enjoyable boating environment for all users. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents with the Washington State Parks and Recreation <br /> Commission regarding agreement,utilization and acceptance of the$22,143.57 For Fiscal Year 2018 Marine <br /> Patrol Federal Financial Assistance Grant Program. <br /> 33 <br />
