BUDGET NARRATIVE
In the space below please offer any information which you feel may provide useful background on your proposed budget such as
source and rate at which matching labor costs are calculated, numbers of promotional pieces to be produced, numbers of media
ads to be placed, media outlets to be used, etc.
Just over$25,000 of the proposed budget above are costs that we would not
incur if we stayed at our current location. Each year the Town of La Conner
provides the facilities at no cost. Equipment and exhibition pieces are easily
at hand, eliminating the need for equipment and truck rental. Ads are
typically run in Skagit&Whatcom counties, Everett and Vancouver B.C., as
well as two weeks of radio spots on Northwest Public Broadcasting. The
advertising budget above has been doubled to allow for print ads in Seattle
and Everett newspapers & tourist publications, as well as expand our radio
spots to incorporate King Co and adjacent areas. Printing costs are
anticipated to increase due to a higher volume of programs needed. Labor
includes paid staff's time plus an estimated 400 hours of volunteer time,
calculated at minimum wage ($11.50/hr.) We do not anticipate receiving any
other City funding and no additional city funding has been applied for.
