Come Celebrate Everett and help inspire the City through running and dancing while benefiting The Arts and Athletic Programs supporting students from the Everett School District. We will take back Broadway, running participants from Everett Community College and WSU Everett Campus to Memorial Stadium. Following the run participants will enjoy an amazing and inspiring concert featuring talented students from Everett School District and a Big Name Headlining Artist. A portion of every entry into the event will be donated to the We Are Everett Community Fund held by the Community Foundation of Snohomish County. The proceeds will we be used to fund arts, entertainment and athletic enrichment programs for kids who live with the Everett School District. For us to reach our goals of over 10,000 tickets and registrations sold we would like to bring in a huge headlining act which will help draw for the event from all over the place. We have already put in a proposal for Macklemore to come play the event. To make the event work we will need to transform Everett Memorial Football Stadium into a viable concert venue. To do this it will cost over $100,000 in staging and sound and extra seating to be brought in. We are seeking 1/2 of the initial $100,000 quote we have obtained to make this happen. We would like to open up registration and ticket sales on March 1st and announce that Macklemore will be the headlining act sometime in May. The actual run and concert will be held on Saturday, September 29th We believe that the entire City of Everett will benefit from this run and concert. Our main focus of the event is to help increase and strengthen the reputation of The City of Everett while also inspiring and motivating our residents. We would like to show the youth of Everett and it's residents what they can do and help them believe they can achieve great things. For this to be successful we want to bring in a huge headliner to perform which is a level we normally do not get in Everett. Macklemore sold out 2 nights at Key Arena in 22 minutes and has a huge following throughout the world. Everett Memorial Stadium is a unique venue and would give his huge audience the ability to not only see how gorgeous the City of Everett but experience Macklemore in a very unique setting. We will be fully closing down Broadway running participants from Everett Community College to Everett Memorial Stadium.We are hoping this might also benefit the City of Everett Residents in that it might inspire the City of Everett to work on cleaning up Broadway a little more while also putting up some flags and banners on the light posts celebrating 125 years of Everett. 5
