This plan will be executed with dedicated staff on the ground in Washington working with
U.S. Figure Skating's staff that will include marketing professionals, graphic designers and
television production for creation of all marketing collateral and support to all grassroots
efforts with the skating community.
This effort will directly impact economic tourism in the City of Everett and Snohomish
County by bringing in thousands of fans for an average stay of 3 nights each and
disposable income to spend in area restaurants, shops, tourism activities as well as rental
car agencies and flights in and out of the area.
This is a major sporting event and needs to be supported as such. This event has a
proven background since its inception in 1980 and attracts the very top athletes in the
U.S. and includes Olympic and World medalists annually.
The City of Everett will benefit from supporting this project. This is an international event
which will be aired on NBC Television. This provides an opportunity to showcase Everett,
Wash., on national television. The media exposure will generate a potential 20 million in
added economic impact via regional, national and international. The hotels, restaurants,
attractions and retail stores will benefit from this three-day event. Media outlets from
around the world will be in attendance to write about the competition prior and during the
event.
5
