Kirk-
I was finally able to contact somebody at Port of Everett about this backflow installation and they tell me that the
property where this backflow is proposed is BNSF property... and from what they say it sounds like BNSF is very difficult
to work with -special insurance, permits, safety training, etc.. to work on their property. My efforts to contact BNSF on
this matter led me to their real estate manager,Jones Lang LaSalle.True to Port of Everett's claims, their email response
is attached that describesjust the base fees and requirements to perform this work on their property. I also have an
inquiry in to Sno Co Assessors office to confirm owner of the land. Do you have any other knowledge of this property
where you're requesting the backflow to be place? Maybe not BNSF? Maybe an easement that precludes us from
adhering to attached requirements?
If this really is BNSF property, is there any reason we couldn't adjust location of the new backflow to where I note on the
attached Property Map? It would seem to make more sense(and cost Shadow Development a lot less) to install the
device on the actual property that it serves.
Thanks,
THERON DAVIS
Fire Systems West, Inc.
Ph: 253-833-1248
Direct: 253-737-1025
Fax: 253-735-0113
Email: therond(afiresystemswest.com
From: Kirk Brooks [mailto:KBrooks@everettwa.ov]
Sent:Tuesday, November 8, 2016 8:05 AM
To:Theron Davis<TheronD@firesvstemswest.com>;Jim Venturo <JVenturo@everettwa.ov>
Subject: RE: Sprinkler system submittal for 25 E Marine View Dr/ K1610-002
Greetings,
I have created a separate Public Works permit to cover the bacl<flow installation. It has an approved site map showing
the location. So we are already to go on that part. It will run concurrent with the actual sprinkler permit. I need to get
Jim over to sign off the sprinkler permit to keep us rolling on this.Jim, can you come over today? I have the paperwork
on my drafting table. Go Hawks!
Thanks. If any chance to do it sooner, please let me know. I just need to get clarification
on what/where so I can get pricing to Everett Engineering asap so this can move fwd.
Kirk, would we be able to meet with you as well to confirm we're looking at correct location for backflow?
Is this FDC and backflow work to be a separate submittal and permit from the fire rebuild submittal we have in to you
right now?
Thanks,
THERON DAVIS
Fire Systems West, Inc.
Ph: 253-833-1248 ,
Direct: 253-737-1025 Fa t
Z ; -
