The design snow load in western Washington is a uniform 25 psf(non-reducible)and
appears that the design roof snow load used is less than this requirement. It appears that
new roof framing is being added to the existing structure as indicated in the drawings.
Please verify that the new framing can support the minimum roof snow load and revise
calculations and drawings, as required.
ZFA Response: Please see revised calculation package for corrected snow load.
2. Per IEBC 2015 Sec 807.4, please provide a calculation to check the existing framing
members, that the new roof framing tying into existing structural elements need not be
strengthened when loaded with IBC 2015 level forces and provide strengthening or
additional support as required.
ZFA Response:All new framing elements provided are standalone elements and
are supported by new framing elements, not existing.
Should you have questions, please contact the undersigned.
Regards,
9914001447„.."
Mickey Kellogg, SE
ZFA STRUCTURAL ENGINEERS
Associate
7801 folsom blvd 1 suite 204 1 sacrament° ca 95826 1 9 1 6 924 70 284 afa.co rn
