Revisions are necessary <br /> before a permit can be issued. Please provide a response letter with two sets of revised drawings, with <br /> areas of revisions clouded on the drawings. Plan review will resume when the requested information is <br /> submitted and sufficient detail and information is shown to ensure that the proposed structures will be <br /> constructed in compliance with all adopted codes. Additional revisions may be required for structural <br /> comments, or by Public Works, Utilities, Planning, or Fire departments. <br /> Please provide a replacement sheet for the site plan, which can be e-mailed to me. <br /> Accessibility <br /> 1. The building permit site plan should indicate the location of van accessible parking, width <br /> dimensions, access aisles for accessible parking, curb cuts, accessible parking signage, and <br /> identifiable accessible routes to the building served, per IBC sections 1104.3, 1106.1, 1106.4, <br /> 1106.5 and 1106.6, and IEBC sections 410.5 and 410.7. The costs for providing the accessible route <br /> are not required to exceed 20% of the cost of the alterations to the primary function area. <br /> a. For your reference, a handout referencing the building code standards ICC/ANSI A117.1- <br /> 2009 for several items listed above is attached. <br /> 2. Accessible parking spaces should be located on the shortest accessible route, per IBC section <br /> 1106.6, as amended by the State of Washington. When crossing traffic lanes, the route should be <br /> designated and marked as a crosswalk, per the amendment. <br /> 3. The total number of required parking spaces should be summarized on the plans,per the <br /> International Building Code(IBC) table 1106.1, to include the specific number of van accessible <br /> parking spaces required, per IBC section 1106.5. <br /> 4. All new work on the parking facility, to include the requirements listed above, should be <br /> dimensioned and clearly identified on the drawings for plan review and inspection. <br /> Codes cited refer to the 2015 International Building Code (IBC), the 2015 International Existing Building <br /> Code (IEBC) and the 2015 International Fire Code (IFC), as amended by the State of Washington and <br /> adopted by the City of Everett. The current IBC referenced standard for accessible design is the 2009 <br /> "Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities" (ICC/ANSI A117.1). These comments address building <br /> issues only.
